Why Read Physical Books?

I'm often asked why I still read physical books. They consume space, they're heavy to move around, dogeared, and unsearchable. I answer why!

Expediting the Endgame

The term endgame arose in chess to isolate strategies the player can memorize and use to maximize her chance of winning. It isn’t some special mode where the rules of the game change. It’s just a mental model that’s easier to study, memorize, and master due to the fact that fewer pieces remain.

No Write Way

The dichotomy of what writers want, and what writers need: we want the approval and advice of established writers, but we need story-specific feedback and a stand-in for our target audience.
